John is the proud grandfather of Ellis Edwards, as well as Ellis’s brother William and sister Olivia—a title he wears like a badge of honour. His pride, admiration, and deep love for his family are boundless and unwavering.
With a successful career as an entrepreneur, John built, developed, and expanded several diverse small businesses across the retail and service industries. The last of these ventures earned the prestigious TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence and ranked in the top 10% of tourist excursions globally. His professional journey began in the early 1980s when he completed a four-year university programme and obtained a Diploma in Management Studies (DMS), laying the groundwork for his achievements in business.
John’s extensive experience in retail and sales, combined with his close relationship with Ellis and his siblings, gives him a unique perspective and role within the Ellis Edwards Foundation. Having personally witnessed the deep void in support for siblings and close friends following the loss of a loved one, John brings heartfelt passion, dedication, and 100% commitment to the Foundation’s mission.
He is devoted to supporting children and young people through the most difficult times in their lives—offering financial assistance, meaningful activities, and vital resources to help them heal, grow, and rediscover joy in life.
