Cara is a mum of two girls, and a Children’s Social Worker. I work with children with complex health needs and disability, navigating emotionally challenging family circumstances and co-ordinating services to improve the child’s well-being, often at the family’s most vulnerable moment. I have 13 years’ experience as a frontline children’s social worker and a comprehensive skillset of advocacy and support, empathy and communication, safeguarding and welfare and navigating complex systems within multi-agency frameworks.
Ellis continues be a huge inspiration to everyone who knew and loved him. His positivity, strength, drive, compassion and humour live on through his family, and now through The Ellis Edwards Foundation where these characteristics and virtues can provide a haven of support to families experiencing profound loss.
I have witnessed firsthand the devastating impact on children and families facing cancer, and I am therefore very honoured and excited to be involved in this venture to support individuals experiencing grief and loss, particularly the unique experience of sibling bereavement, and helping them through their healing process.
I have taken part in several charity fundraising events over the years including the London Marathon and look forward to many more adventures.
